we left around 10:30 monday morning. got to Faith Mission Home FMH around 4. picked up Lamar. then went up the mountain. . . to the cabin. didn't do much monday. me, caleb, lamar, lena, and maria went down to FMH after supper. the 3 oldest played volleyball. when we came back , eugene, rosie , and their two boys were there. we had snack . ..didn't do much more. .. .
Tuesday, was lamar's day off. we went to monticello. that's Thomas Jefferson's home.

it was fun. but the groups were HUGE. you could scarcely all fit in the room. the house was nice. the floor gardens could have used some help.
then we walked down to the gravesite of Thomas Jefferson.
and here is a tree on the monticello plantation. . . . proof that uh, well, a smaller tree can wrap around a larger tree. . . . :) ok. never mind me. ..
Then lamar's house parents from FMH brought supper up for us. after supper. lamar, caleb and me walked up to Skyline Dr. and we got to scare this poor dear. wait. deer. into the woods. then we coaxed it back out with some crazy noises. i got within 10 yards.
it was like a 2 mile hike uphile. so i was more than happy when i saw this sign. . .
but the view was well worth it!

and this picture does it absolutely NO justice. . .
alright . blogger isn't uploading my pictures right. so i might get some pictures later. . . .
i'm gonna go with rosina tonight. and i'm excited. . .
